Billie Piper wants to play Doctor Who.

The blonde actress –who plays the Doctor’s sidekick Rose in the hit TV series – is determined to become the first female Time Lord.

Billie, 23, has reportedly even threatened to quit the show just so she can return one day as the time-travelling hero.

She said: “In the next few years I’d love to play a female version of Doctor Who. I know exactly how I would play her – she would be crafty in a clever kind of way.”

It appears show bosses are keen on the idea of a woman playing the Doctor for the first time in its 43 year history.

Writer Russell T Davies told Britain’s Daily Star newspaper: “I’d do it without blinking. Why not?”
