Actress COURTENEY COX has slammed rumours she suffers from an eating disorder, insisting she has simply found her optimum weight.
Critics feared the former FRIENDS star's bony physique would spark a craze for anorexia among young girls, but Cox fumes that she has been used as a scapegoat for rise in food-related illnesses.
She says, "If I like myself a certain way, I shouldn't have to feel like I'm responsible for anorexia across the country.
"I have never had any control over what anyone does, in any capacity. If I like myself at this weight, this is what I'm going to be.
"I don't have an eating disorder. I remember one magazine said: 'Courteney Cox Talks About Her Bulimia.' I didn't even say a word."
DIAZ: 'RUMOURS CAN'T TOUCH US': Hollywood actress CAMERON DIAZ shrugs off the incessant speculation over her relationship with JUSTIN TIMBERLAKE, and insists nothing can ruin their romance.
Although the CHARLIE'S ANGELS star is always quick to quash libellous rumours with legal action, she and the singer are confident about the strength of their relationship.
She muses, "It's funny. We get these things every few days where one magazine is saying we're breaking up and the other magazine is saying that we're moving in together.
"The another magazine says we're getting married next weekend.
"But we know what the truth is. It doesn't hurt us."
